Wetherill Canyon slices down from Cummings Mesa to reach the river just downstream from Dangling Rope Marina. Its mouth is very wide and about the first mile remains so, particularly at high lake levels. Almost two miles upstream, a small fork left leads to Cummings Cove while the main fork continues. Campsites are possible in both forks. The canyon was named for John Wetherill, who participated in the documented discovery of Rainbow Bridge.
